The client, an entertainment news publisher with years of built-up domain authority, had always seen new articles get indexed by Google almost instantly. That suddenly stopped — Google was no longer finding new articles quickly, and traffic and clicks dropped sharply. For a news publisher, speed of indexing isn't a nice-to-have, it's the whole business model.
Because of how time-sensitive the problem was, we moved fast: within one day of the client reaching out, we had diagnosed the issue, gotten on a call, and agreed on a fix. Within three days of that fix going live, the client's articles were ranking back in the top two results, with some articles recovering in as little as a single day. To make the fix more durable, we also implemented the Google Indexing API, which pings Google News the moment a new article is published.
The result was a full recovery of the publisher's search visibility, restored quickly enough to protect the day-to-day traffic the business depends on — and a client who now calls us their go-to web experts.
